Why should we bother with dreams?
Aren't dreams just nonsense...just neurons randomly firing?
Evolution has premium for dreaming.
Sleep researchers tell us that all humans and many animals dream any times every night. Dream sleep is so important that experimental subjects prevented from experiencing Rem sleep, the part the sleep in which dreams occur, begin to hallucinate after just a combine of nights of deprivation. They effectively begin to dream when they are awake. It is that important to dream. The ability to dream has been evolutionarily premium for because it serves a vital function in human life.
Human beings in all times and places have examined dreams with interest and attention. Mythical and religious characters are portrayed as valuing and being influenced or changed by dreams. The aged Greeks dedicated temples and trained priests and priestesses to clarify dreams. Sigmund Freud, the creator of psychoanalysis, out of which developed most other contemporary therapies, called dreams "The royal road to the unconscious" and Moses Maimonides, the sublime Jewish philosopher is sublime for saying that "A dream unexamined is like a letter unopened"
Psychoanalyst Paul Lipmann (2008) offers us the following list of what he feels that dreams offer:
That is seven digits in a phone number, seven items of a grocery list. That is not very many and yet we have access to a vast reservoir of memories, concepts and emotional experiences which are called up facilely and seamlessly into that sublime set of seven chunks. And just as seamlessly those concepts not in immediate use slip out and are put away. It's a truly astonishing theory when you think about it... Effortless and taken for granted. But what is the mechanism that reaches down and pulls up the facts that is needed? Most of the time it is not "conscious intention."
Unconscious processing is a natural and vital part of thinking
Unconscious processing always underpins and facilitates aware thinking. It is the theory which receives, organizes and makes accessible all of the concepts and experiences that we own. It is naturally impossible to be consciously aware of all we know or to consciously make all the associations between facts that we must in order to make sense of our experience.
Importantly related facts, ideas and feelings may have been accumulated over a lifetime, arriving at separate times and out of separate life experiences. Consciousness, which is busy figuring out what to make for supper, rarely takes time to sniff nearby and survey all the possible associations... Even to pressing life problems.
Fortunately we have an alternative theory to do this work... Psychoanalysts call this the personal unconscious . Cognitive researchers call it "automatic processing"," implicit conception systems" or even "deep psychological processes". No one tries to pretend that consciousness is big enough or strong to do all the work alone.
When we are involved about some aspect of our lives or relationships, the unconscious continues to work on the qoute while consciousness is busy doing other things. anything who has ever had an "Aha!" occasion has had the touch of things being brought together unconsciously and presented as a now certain fact or solution.
Sleep on it!!
The unconscious attempts to offer us larger access to what we know.
One of the main ways that the unconscious is honestly integrated in our lives is straight through dreams. Dreams include attempts by the unconscious to bring us facts and make the arguments that clarify or counterbalance the aware attitude.
Typically, our feelings about situations and persons are more involved and nuanced than what certain thinking, base sense or good manners will endorse.
We have mixed feeling about most experiences.
Dream images may seem strange at first glance, but they are often proven on examination to be extremely correct optical metaphors of a situation which concerns the dreamer.
A very personal point of view
Dreams are part of our theory of unconscious re-organization and creative qoute solving. They pull the essence of a problematic situation out of the clutter of daily touch so we can see it more clearly. They remind us of what we have nearly forgotten, or of what we have tried to forget and bring together ideas that we knew separately but which click" and originate new understanding when brought together. They help us see what we honestly desire and they point the way to hereafter possibilities that grow out of past experiences.

Vitamins supplements are so coarse amonge us. We can indubitably buy them at supermarkets or our local drugs store. But what are vitamins? and why should we take them? Nobel Laureate Fritz Lipmann once commented, "Doctors like to prescribe vitamins and millions of habitancy take them, but it requires a good deal of biochemical sophistication to understand why they are needed and how the organism uses them."
Vitamins are valuable micronutrients that the body cannot contribute in enough quantities. They therefore must be obtained from the environment (diet or supplements). For simplification, vitamins are classified in two groups, according to either they are water-soluble or fat-soluble. The water-soluble vitamins contain vitamin C and the B-complex vitamins; these are thought about for the most part relatively non-toxic. The fat-soluble vitamins, A, D, E, K, tend to acquire in tissues and can be quite toxic at high doses.
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are the work horses of the body in that they function to facilitate biochemical reactions valuable for activities such as muscle contraction, wound healing, digestion of food, metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein, and virtually all the numerous chemical reactions valuable for increase and vitality. The body commerce roughly 4,000 dissimilar enzymes, and 22% of them wish a helper molecule, a coenzyme, to carry out their activity. The relatively tiny B vitamin fits snugly into a exact site on the enzyme, much like a ball in a catcher's mitt. This interaction in the middle of enzyme and vitamin must be a near excellent fit for the enzyme to be active. Once this reaction is complete, the enzyme, now known as a holoenzyme, can perform work for the cell.
Why should we supplement with vitamins?
Many people, especially as we age, wish more nutrients than the diet supplies. Unfortunately, few of us eat the recommended 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables/day. Scientific evidence continues to acquire to strengthen the view that vitamin deficiencies are more coarse than previously thought. It has been estimated that at least 50 human genetic diseases are caused by exact errors in the Dna blueprint, and that these diseases can be corrected or attenuated by taking vitamins several-fold in excess of the recommended daily intake. Other disorders that may be related to genetic factors and vitamin deficiencies contain fibromyalgia, persisting fatigue syndrome, migraine, rage, depression, bipolar, and other more minor disorders.
How can megadosing with a single vitamin make up for some genetic errors?
Vitamin must fit tightly in the pocket of the enzyme for full activity. If an enzyme is produced from a gene containing a genetic error (especially in the formation of the vitamin pocket), the error will most likely work on the quality of the enzyme to bind with the vitamin. This will ensue in reduced enzyme activity, because the vitamin will not be properly fitted to the enzyme. However, enzymologists working in the laboratory have demonstrated a method to force the vitamin into a pocket of an enzyme with low binding affinity. The technique involves raising the attention of the vitamin, thereby expanding the occasion of a sufficient interaction in the middle of the vitamin and its binding site (pocket) on the enzyme. This is indubitably what is believed to occur in some of the 50 or so known genetic diseases that are corrected or improved by ingestion of megadoses of vitamins. The high doses essentially force the imperfect pocket to pop into the vitamin-binding conformation, thereby creating the active holoenzyme.
Other genetic errors can also interfere with the vehicle of the vitamin into the cell. For example, a protein known as intrinsic factor is produced by the stomach and functions as a car to carry vitamin B-12 from the intestine into the plasma. A flaw in this factor will also yield a B-12 deficiency, which can be corrected by B-12 injections or high doses of sublingual B-12, both of which by-pass the intrinsic factor block. Since many vitamins have carrier proteins, this type of error is potentially more coarse than presently realized. Furthermore, stomach acidity is leading in vitamin absorption and it is known that some individuals (more coarse in the elderly) have low vitamin absorption due to abnormal stomach acidity, which again may be corrected by high-dose vitamin therapy.
Vitamins may also serve a role in protecting enzymes from free radical attack. Enzymes are longer-lived when they are in the enterprise of substances they usually work with or bind to, such as the vitamins. The enzyme-bound vitamin affords a shield from free radical attack, as well as promoting a more compact, garage enzyme structure.
How much should one take?
One should avoid taking vitamins in excess of the safe upper limit (Ul), unless prescribed by a noteworthy physician. This safe Ul can be several hundred times the recommended daily required intake, yet clearly within the range of the vitamins and minerals present in one complicated vitamin plus a super-B complex/day. A unblemished list of vitamin-mineral Ul can be obtained from the Us government National Institutes of health Office of Dietary Supplements.
The U.S. Government's dietary guideline of 5 to 7 fruits and vegetables per day is widely cited, but often not well understood. Will 5 fruits and no vegetables meet the guideline? What about all veggies and no fruit? Could it be that they mean 5 to 7 fruits And 5 to 7 vegetables?
Detailed examination of the guidelines reveals that the hint is to consume at least 2 servings of fruits and 3 servings of vegetables per day. The rationale is that dissimilar fruits and vegetables contribute dissimilar nutrients. For supplementary information, and details on what constitutes a serving, go to Dietary Guidelines: Build a salutary Base at http://www.health.gov.
Although the need for vitamins and minerals is widely recognized, most habitancy don't bother to take supplements that would ensure enough vitamin intake. A national study by the Centers for Disease operate and arresting produced data indicating that 60% of the U.S. habitancy had not taken at least 1 vitamin or mineral in the past month.
Vitamin C is the most generally consumed vitamin, followed by several B vitamins. Vitamin E is 7th, A is 8th and D is 9th on the list of the top ten most coarse ingredients. Folic acid, well known for its point during pregnancy, is 10th.
Vitamin consumption correlates with age, education, gender and geography. The groups with the top vitamin supplementation are those who are non-Hispanic whites, women, 50 and over, have 13+ years of education, and live in the West.
For most of us, vitamins are synonymous with good health. Yet most Americans do not take vitamins. Changing diet affects the need for vitamins, as does age, since older bodies don't dispell vitamins as well as younger ones.
