The sartorial shift was also accompanied by a new crop of beauty trends, with blood red lips eclipsing shimmer, smoldering eyes ousting beach-bunny bronzer, and pin-straight hair surpassing more romantic styles. Here, the top six beauty trends from the fall 2006 shows.

You probably won't see Christian Dior's or Gucci's theatrical looks at the office, but both will supply abundance of inspiration for more experimental beauty addicts.

Trend Tips: If you're using a pencil that's too hard, heat it under the hair dryer for a few seconds to soften the tip (just be careful not to melt the liner or burn yourself). If you have small eyes, keep the emphasis on top, rather than on the lower lid. And if you have bags or circles, use concealer--without it, dark liner will only emphasize undereye problems.

Alberta Ferretti's powdery version was paired with a shimmery golden eye, while Celine and Carolina Herrera each offered a sheerer take on the trend.

Trend Tips: Although it's striking on the runway, a pale lip that's too beige or matte can look deadly in real life. To keep from finding like a corpse, pick lipsticks and glosses with a tiny peach (if your skin tone is warm) or pink (if you're cool), and conclude with a dab of clear gloss.

At Marc Jacobs, the models didn't wear polish but kept their nails finding neat with Essie's Cuticle Pen. In contrast, Nanette Lepore's wore Essie's Wicked, a rich burgundy-brown, while Alice Roy's were treated to an even darker shade in retention with the show's nearly black lips.

Chard With Apple and Walnuts

Food Focus: Chard

Chard is a leafy green vegetable often referred to as Swiss chard. Chard has a thick, crunchy stalk to which wide green leaves are attached. Depending upon the variety, the leaves may have lighter-colored ribs running throughout. The stalk, comes in a variety of colors including white, red, yellow and orange. Sometimes, in the market, different colored varieties will be bunched together and labeled "rainbow chard."

Chard belongs to the same family as beets and spinach and shares a similar taste profile: it has the bitterness of beet greens and the slightly salty flavor of spinach leaves. Both the leaves and stalk of chard are edible, although the stems vary in texture with the white ones being the most tender.

Chard is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, magnesium, manganese, potassium, iron, vitamin E and dietary fiber. Ingredients:
2 bunches chard washed and chopped (Swiss chard, green chard, rainbow chard)
1 red apple thinly sliced
1 TBS butter
Handful of walnuts

Cooking Instructions:
1.Melt butter in pan over medium heat. Add apples and sauté for approximately five minutes.
2. Add chard to the pan with 2 TBS of water. Cover the pan and cook for approximately five minutes, or until the chard is wilted. Stir/toss the chard and apples occasionally as they cook.
3.Sprinkle walnuts on top of the chard and apples and enjoy.

Why should we bother with dreams?

  • They portray our current problems, past dilemmas, and future possibilities.
  • They gratify wishes.
  • They can give expression to the life not lived.

Dreams are unconscious products.
Cognitive psychologists tell us that we can hold almost seven (plus or minus two if your memory is exceptionally good or bad) "chunks" of facts in our minds at once.

That is seven digits in a phone number, seven items of a grocery list. That is not very many and yet we have entrance to a vast reservoir of memories, concepts and emotional experiences which are called up easily and seamlessly into that sublime set of seven chunks. And just as seamlessly those concepts not in immediate use slip out and are put away. It's a truly remarkable law when you think about it... Simple and taken for granted. But what is the mechanism that reaches down and pulls up the facts that is needed? Most of the time it is not "conscious intention."

Unconscious processing always underpins and facilitates known thinking. It is the law which receives, organizes and makes accessible all of the concepts and experiences that we own. It is simply impossible to be consciously aware of everything we know or to consciously make all the associations between facts that we must in order to make sense of our experience.

Why should we bother with dreams?
Aren't dreams just nonsense...just neurons randomly firing?

Evolution has selected for dreaming.
Sleep researchers tell us that all humans and many animals dream any times every night. Dreams are unconscious products.
Cognitive psychologists tell us that we can hold roughly seven (plus or minus two if your memory is exceptionally good or bad) "chunks" of information in our minds at once.

That is seven digits in a phone number, seven items of a grocery list. I am currently working as a conscientious objector to the electoral process, because I think it is a "smokescreen" that is used primarily for the public to think that what the government decides to quiet is not right, under the pretext that we have a chance to vote had someone or something else in its place. I just do not think that our agency staff is best used, then step back and not most people exercise their individual agency in some other way if they have decided that the vote gets all the care. IfYou want to read these ideas on the ballot, Walter Lippmann and Phillip Converse authors present arguments as long as the topic with facts. How agency staff and propaganda, a book on Social Influence, by Elliot Aronson, should focus on what I'm talking about, and if something or someone by Anthony Pratkanis, Sam Deans or her teacher knows where it would be very instructive for them. I encourage you to decide what and howwants to change the world in an attempt at such times and areas of your life, if we consider a kind of privilege and use your own agency in such situations.
